A Stroll through the Gardner Village Farmers Market

Howdy, folks! And welcome to the farm. . . Okay, so we're not exactly out in the fields, but Gardner Village is bringing the farm to you each and every Saturday from now through October. Last month, we shared just a sampling of the amazing vendors we have on site each week at our Farmers Market. Today, we have even more to add to that list.

The first thing you likely expect to find at a farmers market is produce and our market is no exception. We have the best of seasonal produce in stock for you to enjoy.

What you may not expect are all of the things beyond the farm finds we have to offer. Everything from handmade jewelry and natural cleaning supplies to homemade food and other tasty treats.

For example, have you ever heard of Soap Nuts before? Me neither, but they exist and offer you a natural way to do laundry.

These little guys suds right up when combined with water.

And who needs expensive dryer sheets when you can simply use a felt dryer ball. The benefits are the same, but this buddy is reusable for years!

Looking for an unusual and on-trend piece of jewelry to add to your collection? These looong, leather, beaded cords, handmade by Tatiana Filippova (think of the time she must put into them), are calling your name. When wrapped, they make it look as if you have a bundle of bracelets on. So cute!

First step, and this is definitely the most difficult, is to select your bracelet design. There are many stylish options to choose from.

Next, the booth attendants will actually wrap it for you as they also teach you how to put it on for yourself.

Finally, enjoy your pretty piece. I purchased one of these while at the Farmers Market last Saturday, and I've already received so many compliments on it. Plus, I just love that it smells like leather (reminds me of my grandfather).

Maybe you're in the market for something new for your home. If so, H. Lee Designs has an assortment of awesome handmade throw pillows for you to choose from. Including this cute concept—a tooth fairy pillow!

It may be hot now, but the cooler football months are just around the corner. Seems like the prime time to score a goal in the accessory department with these handmade hair bows by MamaMomi Bows.

With Jurassic World breaking records at the box office, it seems only appropriate that you enjoy the show with a delicious dinosaur cookie in tow. Not that we'd ever dream of encouraging you to sneak cookie contraband into the flick. ;)

You'll also find patriotic stars on stars, and intricately decorated Utah cookies, all just in time for your Pioneer Day celebration.

But our Farmers Market isn't just about the things to buy. It's about the people you'll meet. There are so many kind exhibitors, waiting to answer your questions or simply greet you with a smile. I mean, have you ever seen a cuter pair of snow cone creators in your life?

And these two from United Studios of Self Defense sure put a friendly face on the art of karate.

With his dollar tip in hand, this young Farmers Market patron proves that our group of vendors are so approachable and fun to meet.

And many have free samples to share, like this generous fella from Riley's Farm Fresh. Bonus!

Cool Off Over Delicious Breakfast
Once you've got your goods and met your new friends, cool off inside our Naborhood Bakery. We invite you inside to enjoy any one of our Farmers Market breakfast favs, including this, our Greek Skillet.

This beauty is made up of sautéed spinach, grilled asparagus, artichoke hearts, red onion, scrambled eggs, which are all layered over potatoes o' brien and topped with feta choose and fresh tomato. Is your mouth watering yet?

And this savory goodness is our Paris Skillet. It combines black forest ham, garlic mushrooms, green onions, and scrambled eggs. These ingredients are then layered over potatoes and topped with melted swiss and parmesan cheese, and hollandaise sauce.  Breakfast is just served on Saturdays. Yu-um!

Thanks for stopping by today, y'all! We look forward to giving you a warm, farm-friendly welcome at The Market soon.

Cheers!
Megan Hoeppner
