Plan a Stay-cation at Gardner Village

Enjoy all the positives of a summer vacation—activities, dining out, shopping, rest and relaxation, souvenir treasures, and, most importantly, time together as a family—without the standard vacation hassles—packing, long drives, restless kiddos, high costs, etc. How? Plan a trip to Gardner Village this summer! Consider this your travel itinerary for the best stay-cation in town.

Stop 1: The Local Farmers Market
If you plan your stay-cation for a Saturday, you can participate in our summer Farmers Market. Bring the family out for a taste of the local flavor, including locally grown produce (changes throughout the summer, depending on what's in season), handmade crafts from Utah artisans, live music, sweet treats and baked goods, and an overall warm and friendly atmosphere. Grab some fresh breakfast while you're here and fuel up for the fun ahead.

Stop 2: The Gardner Village Farm (for Dad & the Kids)
Time for a little family play at our local petting zoo and farm. Here, you and your children have the pleasure of visiting our local farm friends, most of whom have been rescued by The Farm. Mosey around Gardner Village on one of our sweet ponies and show our sweet and friendly animals some love. Your children will adore interacting with our well cared for critters, and you'll walk away with some excellent photo opps.

Stop 2: Rest and Relax (for Mom)
While the Pop and the kiddos are enjoying a bit of the country life at The Farm, you deserve some pampering. The Cottage Retreat Spa & Salon is ready to serve. With a full service menu of options, you can freshen up that summer mani/pedi or take to some deep relaxation in the form of a facial or massage. If you're feeling generous and don't mind sharing your quiet downtime, make this Stop 3, and get the entire family in on the action. All ages and genders are welcome and will find soothing choices for unwinding.

Stop 3: Time to Dine
Indulge in some home cookin' without the work (or dishes!). Archibald's Restaurant offers an impressive menu, with something for everyone in your group. Don't forget some housemade carrot cake or our famous fried green tomatoes while you're there. There's also the Naborhood Bakery. It's under construction with some amazing renovations but still open for business. Yum!

Stop 4: Afternoon Shopping
Beat the mid-day heat with stops at our numerous local shops. Try on some new clothes at Spoiled Rotten, Shopaholics and Plum Dandy; kick your feet up testing out a sofa or two at CF Home and Down to Earth; get your creative wheels turning and ask about summer camps and classes with walks through Pine Needles, Kamille's and The Bead Farm; find fresh summer decor ideas in The Village Quilt Shop; and pick out a few treasures at Aunt Elsie's, Georgell Doll Shop and The Storybook Nook. In this one stop on your stay-cation agenda, you can walk away with a new summer wardrobe for the family and plenty to keep the kids busy during the long summer days ahead.

Stop 5: Time for a Treat
Round out your day with a visit to The Chocolate Covered Wagon, where everybody in your party can enjoy selecting a sweet treat to devour on the drive home. With apples dipped in handmade caramel, fruit topped with a delicious array of delights, Utah's best salt water taffy (spun in the store, which is fun to see!), and a feast of additional treats, there's something to satisfy everybody's sweet tooth.

Whew! What a day! Gardner Village offers an absolutely unique experience for every member of your family, making it easier than ever to get a vacation feel right in your own backyard. We look forward to being a part of your summer memories soon.
