Lucky You!: A Book Stand Giveaway and Spring Sale

Spring is in the air at Gardner Village, which means flowers are in bloom and sales are going strong. Looking to revamp your home this spring? Or perhaps you're after some memorable Easter-basket ideas? Either way, CF Home is your place to be.

This delightful shop, originally named Country Furniture & Gifts, has been open for 35 years this May and the building was originally a flour mill built in 1877 by early Utah pioneer, Archibald Gardner. Isn't that impressive? No wonder they're so good at what they do. They've had practice.

What is it they do, you may be wondering. I'll share, as some of what they offer may surprise you. But, first, our weekly Lucky You! March giveaway! Today, one lucky blog reader will go home with this pretty book stand from CF Home, perfect for displaying a photo book or sign or holding up a cookbook. More on the giveaway at the end of this post. And don't forget we're also announcing the winner of our massive Easter Basket Giveaway today. Keep those fingers crossed!

Customize Your Home
Sure, you can walk in to CF Home and make lovely home decor purchases while you're waiting for your table at Archibald's Restaurant (something I'm quite familiar with). There are many unique items just waiting to go home with you. But CF Home is more than just a place to get smaller home decor items. They also offer you the opportunity to completely customize your furniture and accents.

Say you've fallen in love with this sofa, but you'd rather it be in a dark color. No problem! CF has a massive assortment of upholstery choices for you to choose from, whether you're special ordering furniture or simply want to customize your accent pillows.

In addition to catering to customized home furnishings, they also have the largest collection of on-site rugs in the state. The next time you're in for a visit, venture downstairs, where you'll find this brilliant rug gallery waiting for you, with rugs of all sizes and patterns.

Also in the lower level of the shop are additional furniture items and home decor pieces to choose from, so make sure you don't skip this lower-level trip.

Feeling the least bit unsure about your next home decor direction? CF Home has knowledgable and experienced interior designers on staff, ready to help answer any questions you may have. How's that for service?

More than Just a Store
While CF Home is an impressive store, it's also like taking a trip back in time. Elements from the original flour mill are on display on the upper and lower levels of the shop, making this both a shopping and historic experience.

This is the original plansifter from the flour mill. Isn't it cool? Just one of the many antique items you can view in this store/museum. :)

Small Touches
Maybe it's a few smaller touches you're after? Some new wall art, perhaps? Or a fresh display for that living room shelf? CF Home has you covered. Here are just a few of the fun items you'll find at affordable prices in this sweet shop.

Lucky You! A Farm Fresh Giveaway!

Yeehaw! This is one way to spend a day that you and your children or grand children won't soon forget--a pony ride and a trip to the petting zoo and farm at Gardner Village! I recently had the pleasure of visiting with my family, where we had a galloping good time.

Farm Freebie
Want to create your own special memories down on the farm? You're in luck! We're giving away a four-pack of express pony rides AND free admission to the petting zoo, including feed for the animals. More on how to enter at the end of this post.

March Ride Special
Just in time for spring, The Farm at Gardner Village is offering special Tuesday pony rides for only $2! That's right, their $5 rides are discounted by more than half every Tuesday this month. Or you can still enjoy the full Village ride for $10. The Farm is now open year round, Monday through Saturday.

Cowboy Gil is an amazing tour guide. He'll give you the hat right off his head without hesitation.

As we passed other kiddos throughout the Village on our ride, Cowboy Gil greeted each of the children by name. He loves each of those children as much as they clearly love him. In fact, he stopped mid ride to give a ride of his own to one of the sweet babes we passed. He truly is the kids' cowboy and half of the fun of the pony ride experience.

The extended ride includes a trip past some of your favorite Gardner Village shops. I can think of no better way to view the Village than this.

Why, yes, that is a pretty pony in a toy store! Only at Gardner Village do your children experience such magic.

Petting Zoo
Once we were back at the more-than-okay coral, my daughter enjoyed visiting with the rest of the animals on the farm, including sheep, goats, alpacas, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, more ponies, and Maggie's personal  fav, the bunnies!

But this is far more than a petting zoo. This is a rescue farm, and each of the beautiful animals living here, as well as many others who were off site at another farm (they rotate the animals at the zoo so they don't get overwhelmed), are animals who've been rescued from poor situations. This farm is their second chance at life.

The fun included an amazing moment when we got to meet two brand new baby goats. One was only a day old. Aren't they adorable?

Ring in a Giveaway
Well, well. Ring my bell! This is one giveaway you don't want to miss out on. We're giving away four passes to this heartfelt petting zoo along with feed, as well as four express pony rides. Want in?

Simply leave a comment on this post between now and Monday, March 9, for your chance to win. We'll list our winner on next week's post. Good luck!

And the Winner Is...
Time to announce the winner of last week's Kamille's Class Giveaway. Congratulations to Jessi. You're our lucky lady! Please email us at for details on claiming your prize.

"I would love to learn how to knit. It would be so fun to take these classes with some girlfriends." --Jessi

Y'all Come Back Now, Ya Hear?
We had such a wonderful afternoon. My daughter still talks about it often. I hope you can create your own amazing memories soon. Bring your parents and your children and make a family farm day of it. You'll be glad you did.

Giddy up!
