Halloween is Right Around the Corner!!

Here are some fun Halloween facts and jokes to get us in the Halloween spirit. 

Facts: 

  1. Halloween candy sales average about $2 billion annually in the United States.
  2. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups rank as the most popular Halloween candy, followed by Life Savers, Baby Ruth, Tootsie Rolls and Milky Way. M&Ms and Hershey bars are also very popular.
  3. Halloween is the 2nd most commercially successful holiday, with Christmas being the first.
  4. Pumpkins also come in white, blue and green.
  5. Orange and black are Halloween colors because orange is associated with the fall harvest and black is associated with darkness and death.
  6. The first Jack O’Lanterns were actually made from turnips
  7. The word “witch” comes from the Old English wicce, meaning “wise woman.” In fact,wiccan were highly respected people at one time. According to popular belief, witches held one of their two main meetings, or sabbats, on Halloween night
