Holiday Party Planning at The Gathering Place

Here at The Gathering Place, we barely get the Halloween decorations put away and it’s time to get the Christmas decor up.  This year our first holiday party was on November 10th!

Planning a corporate holiday party can be a challenging task. But it's an important event as it shows appreciation to employees for their contribution over the past year and gives them a chance to relax and celebrate.   There are two things I recommend to help your party be successful.  Be organized, and involve as many people as possible in the planning.  Create sub-groups to take care of food, decorations, party gifts and prizes, budgets and venue.

Rather than doing the standard food and drinks, throw a theme party.

How about an Ugly Sweater Party?  Guests can find ugly Christmas sweaters in a thrift store to wear.  Decorate with sweaters on tables and on the chairs.  Have a fashion show with a prize for the ugliest sweater.

A 70’s party with disco dancing or a Masquerade Ball where everyone dresses up can be unique and fun!

How about Christmas Carols Karaoke?

Or a Gingerbread House Decorating Party complete with prizes for the best house.

A black tie affair gives everyone a chance to really dress up.

A “ Twelve Days of Christmas” party where each table is a part of the song. If guests are assigned to a table beforehand, they could dress as a milkmaid, or a drummer, etc. Use your creativity to add details to whatever them you choose.

Happy Holidays!
